Nearby are towns and ports like Kingsbridge,Dartmouth and Salcombe, a well-known resort village, all within half an hour's drive.

Stokenham village is close to many places of local interest, such as Slapton Sands with it's WW II memorial, where the D-Day landings were practised (Operation Tiger).

The area is a hikers dream,with mile upon mile of beautiful coastal footpath which can be accessed at Torcross via a path from the village.

From here you could walk along the headlands through local fishing villages and beaches or perhaps to Start Point and take a tour of the lighthouse, learn about Britain's fascinating maritime history and what makes this lighthouse different from the rest.

Or if you want to just enjoy a family day out on the beach, you are of course spoilt for choice!
